India secures 3rd rank in Int’l Snow Sculpture Championship at US | KNO

Srinagar, Jan 27 (KNO): Team India has made the entire country proud by clinching third place at the International Snow Sculpture Championship as the team's stunning sculpture, "Mind in Meditation," impressed judges and spectators alike. As per the details available with the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO), the four-member Indian team, led by Captain Zahoor Ahmad of Singhpora Pattan and comprising another talented deaf & mute sculptor from Kashmir, Suhail Khan, worked tirelessly for four days in freezing temperatures ranging from -25°C to -35°C. Despite facing freezing temperatures and time constraints, the team worked tirelessly for four days, transforming a massive block of snow into a breathtaking masterpiece. Captain of Indian team, Zahoor Ahmad told KNO that despite the challenging weather conditions and time constraints, team India's "Mind in Meditation" sculpture impressed the judges and spectators alike with its elegance and precision. He added that the 5-judge on the panel took more than 6 hours to evaluate 12 snow sculptures. India ranked third, while Germany secured first and Mexico second, amongst teams like the US, Finland, Canada, Mongolia, South Korea, Argentina and Turkey. This achievement marks a significant milestone for Indian snow sculpting, showcasing the country's talent and creativity globally, he added. The competition, held in Breckenridge, Colorado from 20th to 24th Jan, featured 12 teams from around the world, including the US, Germany, Mexico, Finland, Canada, Mongolia, South Korea, Argentina, and Turkey—(KNO)
